erectile disorder, erectile dysfunction

Erectile disorder is a condition characterized by a repeated inability to achieve or maintain an erection during partnered sexual activities. To be diagnosed with erectile disorder, the symptoms must persist for at least six months and occur in at least 75% of sexual encounters. The sexual dysfunction should not be better explained by a non-sexual mental disorder, severe relationship distress, the effects of a substance or medication, or another medical condition. A thorough sexual history analysis is necessary to confirm the presence of the disorder over the required period and its occurrence during sexual activities.
