Female Orgasmic Disorder is characterized by difficulty experiencing orgasm and/or a markedly reduced intensity of orgasmic sensations during clitoral stimulation. If orgasm occurs during other forms of clitoral stimulation but not during penile-vaginal intercourse, the individual does not have the disorder. Symptoms must be present in at least 75% of sexual activities over a duration of six months and must cause clinically significant distress to be diagnosed. The sexual dysfunction should not be better explained by a non-sexual mental disorder, relationship distress, the effects of a substance or medication, or another medical condition.
