tourette's disorder

A tic is a sudden, rapid, recurrent, non-rhythmic motor movement or vocalization, such as repeatedly blinking the eyes, blurting out offensive words, or shrugging the shoulders. Tourette's disorder is a nervous disorder. It starts before the age of 18. The tics may wax and wane in frequency but have persisted for more than one year. Treatment may include medication or psychological therapies. The disturbance should not be attributed to the physiological effects of a substance or another medical condition.
